Christmas in July? Or Just a Little Light Revival?
Christmas in July? Or Just a Little Light Revival?
Apparently, it’s not just a marketing ploy for retailers.
Because here we are—deep into July—and across the street from my apartment, a tiny Christmas tree still twinkles in the window. Lights aglow. Proud. Unapologetically out of season. And honestly? It makes me smile.
Every single morning, that little glow catches my eye before the coffee kicks in. A sweet, steady reminder that no matter what’s going on around us, we always have the choice to shine.
There was a time I might’ve judged it. Wondered why someone hadn’t packed it up already. But these days? I see it as something else entirely. Not a leftover decoration, but a quiet symbol of hope. Of light. Of choosing joy—even if it doesn’t match the calendar.
So, in this little Christmas-in-July moment, I want to gently nudge you:
Be the light.
Even when things feel hard.
Even when you're tired.
Even when you're not quite sure who needs it (hint: it might be you).
Smile at someone who least expects it.
Say the kind word.
Let the moment be enough.
Because you never know who might be looking out their own window, needing to see that little flicker of light—your light—shining back at them.
With love, light, and a wink at whoever left their decorations up,
Michèle
